QR codes are becoming a common way to connect people with information, goods, and services. If you've been deciding whether or not to use them in your next event or online marketing campaign, we can help you.

Here are some cheap and creative ways to use QR codes at your next event.

Use QR codes on your invitations

Place a QR code on each invitation that you send to prospective attendees.

The QR code can contain different types of content. For example, you could add a link for discount tickets or a map with directions to your event location.

There are many things you can do with QR codes. You can use them to provide any other information that would be helpful for your target audience.

Adding exclusive deals or interesting content using QR codes also gives people more incentive to attend your event. Many might find it fun and interesting, so it's possible that they will share it with their friends who may also want to attend.

You can create different types of QR codes for your invitations using our online QR generator. You can create one that links to your website, shows a map, or a quick link for registration.

For this example, we're going to show you how to create a location QR code:

  1. First, go to https://www.qrstuff.com/?type=maps and have the “Location” data type pre-selected from the Data Type section. qrstuff.com location data type

Print them onto handouts at your event

One of the creative ways to use QR codes at your next event is to print them on your handouts. Event-goers will be able to scan the QR code for a customized link to your website that is relevant and useful to them. This is a great way to remember you, capture leads, and build connections.

In this example, we're going to assume that your files are saved on Google Drive.

  1. First, go to https://www.qrstuff.com/?type=website and have the “Website URL” data type pre-selected from the Data Type section. qrstuff.com website URL data type
  2. In the content section, paste the URL of your Google Drive Folder into the required field. qrstuff.com content for website URL

Place a code on your poster board

If you're going to print out posters promoting an event, it's a good idea to include a QR code on them as well. This way, people who see the poster have the option to scan it and get more information about the event or buy tickets if they wish.

Adding a QR code to your posters can save you a lot of money. Doing this allows you to reach an offline audience.

Here's how you can create a QR code that provides more information about the event:

  1. First, go to https://www.qrstuff.com/?type=text and have the “Plain Text” data type pre-selected from the Data Type section.
  2. In the content section, add all the necessary information about your upcoming event. qrstuff.com content for plain text QR code
  3. You can now save your QR code. qrstuff.com download plain text QR code

Note: You can also use an image or PDF to provide more information about your upcoming event. If you choose to use PDF instead, choose PDF as the Data type. After that, you need to upload the PDF file into our database.

Include them in swag bags

It's possible to add QR codes to all kinds of printed materials like giveaways, advertisements, and even programs. You can also incorporate them into lanyards, name tags, and even bracelets.

We've seen lots of people use them at events as well. For example, you can print them on take-home bags. This is a great idea if you're passing out swag bags. This type of QR code is often seen at a networking event or a convention of some kind.

When creating this type of QR code, you can use the Website URL as the data type. This data type allows you to link any webpage to your QR code.

Use the QR code in a contest or to promote exclusive deals during the event

Another creative way to use QR codes is to use the QR code as part of a contest or promotion by offering exclusive deals only available through scanning the code at the event. If you have several booths at your event and want attendees to visit each one, consider creating different codes for each booth. You can make it fun by using one of our interactive codes that allow people to upload photos or videos!

For this example, you can use the Website URL as the data type as well. But you can be creative. To differentiate QR codes at each booth, you can customize their appearance.

There are a lot of possibilities for using QR codes at your event. You can keep it fun with the most obvious uses, or you can make these codes provide real value that can benefit you during and after the event. Of course, no matter how you decide to use them, you may find something unexpected or that works better than what you had planned.
